yes, this kid is absolutely incredible, unbelievable stats, etc... However, what about the stuff that doesnt make the headlines - stuff like that hes not coachable, hot temper when things dont go his way, argues with umpires; possibly the next Milton Bradley???

I have been following this kid for almost 3 yrs now read numerous stories and watched loads of video. I am still amazed at his athletic ability and pure power... I think if he stays healthy he will be the best power hitter to ever play major league baseball. He will break every record possible, especially the HR record, after A-rod breaks it and maybe pujos. This kid is the real deal.

Now he has had his share of problems with coaches and attitude.. But come on who would b able 2 deal with all the pressure and criticism at 15.16,17. Not very many people. He would get booed at 15 if he did not hit a HR in every at bat... now anybody that knows the game of baseball knows that baseball is a game based around failure. If you fail 6 out of 10 times you will still hit .400 and be an All-Star and future Hall of Famer. So can fans really expect to see a HR every at bat... not hardly. This kid was walked 2 out of every 3 at bats as sophomores in HS... come on who would have fun? That is what the game is all about especially in HS... he made a very tough decision to drop out of HS after his sophomore season to attend junior college so he would b eligible for the 2010 MLB draft, instead of just entering his senior yr of HS, where he would have had nothing left 2 prove and would have been walked more times that you can count. I didn’t think he made the right decision at the time but after his JUCO success and now multi millionaire dollar deal I can’t say he made the wrong decision. He was able 2 actually play baseball with kids who were not afraid of him and actually pitched to him. He dominated all of them in a WOODEN bat league hitting 31 home runs, 98 RBI, hitting .443/.526/.987 (AVG/OBP/SLG). His 31 home runs broke the schools previous record of 12. He was named the 2010 SWAC Player of the Year, and won the prestigious 2010 Golden Spikes Award, given to the nation’s top amateur baseball player, along with a long list of other college awards... this kid has so much talent his positives greatly outweigh the negatives.. People may see him as a T.O. of baseball or a Chad Ocho-cinco but this kid can flat out play and most people that don’t like him are haters. I think that now that he has made it to the show, well minor league ball then the SHOW, he will have time to grow up and mature, remember this kid is only 17. His mental abilities have not yet caught up 2 his physical abilities. He will grow up and mature over the next yr or 2 and by the time he makes his Debut he will b a whole new player with a whole new attitude. I love everything about this kid, he plays the game HARD and I love that. I wish him nothing but the best... baseball NEEDS Bryce Harper. Every fan needs to make a decision either u r a lover or a hater... but make a decision because u will b hearing and seeing a lot of this kid for a long long time... players like Babe Ruth, Mantle, Cobb, Musial, Aaron, Mays... they don’t come around everyday.. These are Legends of the game... Harper has a lot to prove his Career has just started but I truly believe we will be throwing his name around with those guys in the next 15-20 years... Only time will tell.

Washington Nationals sign top pick Bryce Harper before midnight deadline - ESPN

No. 1 overall draft choice Harper and the Nationals agreed to a $9.9 million, five-year contract in the seconds before the deadline of midnight ET Monday night -- a year after coming to terms with 2009 top selection Strasburg on a record deal with a little more than a minute to go.

Bryce finally makes his MLB debut tonight! Will he go down as one of the top sluggers in MLB history? I think yes.
