When do fans question the morality of an athletic director?? Is it the 2nd, 3rd or 4th time he goes to bat for a coach that displays poor judgement and can't seem to kick a lifelong habit that puts kids in danger daily. When is it ok to question the moral integrity of an athletic director?? it will be interesting to see what the integrity of this once historical baseball school in the NLC will be?? It will be interesting to hear how they respond!! especially, from a school that once prided itself on DOING THINGS RIGHT under hall of fame coach Bill Nixon. Its understandable not to have the winning success Bill Nixon had, he was a great coach!! But, for an athletic director to allow kids in this program to be exposed to this type of cancer, does nothing but slap Bill Nixon in the face. Everything Bill Nixon stood and fought for to build this program is being jeapordized by an athletic director that would rather sweep problems under the rug as opposed to doing what is right. Just, because he can't admit he was wrong by continually backing this coach for all these years. He should be EMBARRASSED of himself
Understandable,
Without knowing the specifics of this instance I can not comment. I do however feel like the athletic directors primary focus should be on what is best for the school, the schools athletic department, and the athletes of that school. I am a strong believer in second chances but a third and fourth seem to be a bit much. If these accusations are well founded and not based off rumors or speculation then I believe action should be taken. Again though, without knowing the specifics it is impossible for me to comment.
