What began as a disappointing week, became a great week Saturday as the Tigers captured the Wayne County Tournament. Tuesday, playing at Centerville, with a chance to move into a tie for the Tri Eastern Conference lead, the Tigers fell in 6 innings by a score of 13-3. The Tigers led 3-0 after one, on a towering 3 run homer from Tyler Kelley, but could not score again. The loss virtually eliminated the Tigers from the conference race. Thursday, they dropped a game at Muncie South 6-3. South, one of the state leaders in home runs added two more in the contest. Saturday the Tigers hosted the Wayne County Tourney and avenged their only two conference losses. They eliminated Lincoln in the morning game by a score of 10-7, with an eight run, 7th inning rally. In the Championship game, they turned the tables on Centerville, with 16 hits and an 11-2 victory. Cole Bartlett picked up the win, in game one, in relief.
Tyler Kelley pitched a complete game, 2 hitter in the title game. Every starter had at least one hit in the final led by Kelley, with 2 singles and a home run. Bartlett also added a round tripper.
