MUNCIE -- The ping of aluminum bat on ball sounded as if someone shot off a firecracker. Not one of those cheap firecrackers. No, we're talking about one of those explosives that cost a small fortune for a few brief moments of entertainment.

Had the opportunity to watch the Muncie Chiefs put one on the Richmond Post 65 13-3 Monday night. Very impressive team that is put together the way Legion teams are meant to be put together. They are heavy in graduated seniors and the seniors to be are also good.

Linton helps Chiefs roll into Legion sectional

    http://www.thestarpress.com/article/...gion-sectional

MUNCIE -- Rick Linton possesses a certain swagger about him. His confidence rubs some players the wrong way and sometimes drives coaches crazy, but his play warrants their respect.

I had the opportunity to see Linton play Monday night and all he did was hit 2 homeruns and a double. This kid is 5-8 and 150 pounds and damn near hit two balls out onto Peacock Road at McBride Stadium in Richmond. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to see him play in the Legion regionals.
